European Maintenance Facility Named T.C.
Service Center
AIRplus Maintenance GmbH has been named an authorized Twin Commander service center in Europe.
The company was founded in 1996 in a 12,000-sq. ft. hangar at the Friedrichshafen International Airport (EDNY) in far southern Germany, on the northern shore of Lake Constance. With France, Italy, Luxembourg, Austria, and Switzerland within one hour’s flight time, AIRplus is conveniently located to serve all of Europe.
AIRplus expanded in 2006 when it opened a branch at Finsterwalde, (EDUS) a former military field in the middle-eastern portion of Germany between Berlin and Dresden. The company occupies a 29,000-sq. ft. hangar at Finsterwalde. The Finsterwalde AIRplus base handles long-term projects.
AIRplus has the capability to inspect and maintain all Twin Commander turboprop models from the 690 through the JetProp 1000. AIRplus also is an authorized Honeywell Service Station, and can perform maintenance, repairs, and hot section inspections on TPE331 engines.
Capabilities include designing, installing, and servicing avionics; sheet-metal fabrication; engineering and performing modifications and repairs; managing continuing airworthiness programs on aircraft; consulting; spare parts support; and aircraft sales. With all necessary European aviation maintenance authorizations and approvals, AIRplus can provide all-inclusive service,” AIRplus Manager Peter Schleder said.
“The complete team at AIRplus Maintenance GmbH are trained on a regular basis,” Schleder added. “Our goal is to serve the customer, provide superior quality, and satisfy customer needs.”
AIRplus currently is installing and certifying (to EASA standards) a Garmin 600 in a 690A Commander.
